Proposition 39 — Government Identification for Voting
Requires government-issued identification for in-person voting and the last four digits of a designated identification number on mail-ballot envelopes. Also requires efforts to verify registered voters’ citizenship and provides a free state voter identification card.
A yes vote means
Voters would have to provide the additional identifying information each time they vote.
A no vote means
Existing voter identification and signature requirements would remain in place.
