Proposition 5 — State Recall Election Process
Removes the replacement-candidate question from state recall elections. Most vacancies would be filled by appointment or a separate special election. For a recalled Governor, the Lieutenant Governor would serve, with a later election in some circumstances.
A yes vote means
State recall ballots would ask only whether to remove an official, with replacements determined through the new vacancy rules.
A no vote means
State recall ballots would continue to let voters choose a replacement at the same election.
