Proposition F — Changes to Executive Branch Management
Expands the Mayor’s authority over departmental responsibilities and leadership, permits deputy mayors, and allows appointing officials to remove most commissioners without cause. Specified departments and commissions are exempt.
A yes vote means
Allow the Mayor to reorganize responsibilities subject to Board objection, hire deputy mayors, and hire some and fire most department heads; allow at-will removal of most commissioners by their appointing officials.
A no vote means
Keep current limits on departmental reorganization, deputy mayors, and removal or appointment of department heads and commissioners.
Requires a simple majority of votes cast on the measure to pass.
