Proposition 43 — Two-Thirds Vote for Local Special Taxes

Beginning January 1, 2027, raises the approval threshold for voter-proposed local special taxes from a majority to two-thirds. These taxes dedicate revenue to specified local government services.

Voter-proposed local special taxes would need two-thirds approval.

A no vote means

These local special taxes could continue to pass with a majority vote.
